Safety Management & HR
The South Carolina Safety Management Council is the safety organization within the South Carolina Trucking Association, Inc. It’s purpose is to promote safe trucking operations on our nation’s highways and to advance the level of professionalism of its membership.
Made up of safety personnel from SCTA member companies, the council meets regularly to discuss issues of interest to safety professionals. Projects and programs are conducted with education in mind.
The council also works with groups all across South Carolina to spread the word that the trucking industry is concerned about safety and reducing accidents, and that we are doing something positive about it.
Do your company, your industry and yourself a service and join the SCTA Safety Management Council and make a commitment to improving your company, your industry, and yourself.
Membership is open to individuals whose company or employer is a member of SCTA for free! If the top safety staff in your company is not already involved, let us know and we will be happy to include them in communications about Council meetings and events.
If you have any questions, contact Taryn Shekitka at (803) 799-4306.

Since then it has grown to become the largest active council of SCTA.
The Maintenance Council meets monthly to discuss business and hosts programs presented by engineers, field service managers and technicians representing manufacturers and suppliers of truck parts and equipment with the purpose directed to more efficient maintenance of truck fleets.
Membership is open to individuals whose company or employer is a member of SCTA for free!
